EYE TO EYE

Eye to eye (2022) - ephemeral space

FROM A PERSONAL STORY TO A PROJECT

Our subject PDP (personal development project) was to develop a project getting to known ourselves better as a designer.

As a start, we had to write a story about our home and a feeling we experimented in it. I wrote about my grandma’s house, and the feeling of being observed by the portraits in the living room.

AN ANALISIS OF THE SPACE

The intervention was held in Museo Mares, in a space that we had first to analyse with 3 elements : I chose the nature that was present, the emotions felt in a specifical spot and the textures felt with our hands.

A MEANINGFUL DESIGN

The design proposed was replicating the base of the center of the space, the fountain, into the entire patio by creating these benches in an octogonal shape.

Fomenting discussion and encounters, this space called eye to eye almost oblige people to look each other in the eyes and speak. This was also a way to create a space for meeting people, specially after Covid hit our social life so hard.

A DIFFERENT LOOK

This project was also a way to explore our personal graphic style. With some influence (good or bad), I started using blue in my designs and got to create the first panel I was proud of. This was a turning point in my professional and personal life.
